CREATOR PAYMENTS
Fees and payouts, explained clearly
Supporter payments are processed directly on the creator’s connected Stripe account. Getboosted and Stripe deduct their respective fees; the remainder belongs to the creator.
A simple £10 example
| Supporter pays | £10.00 |
|---|---|
| Getboosted fee (2.5%) | − £0.25 |
| Stripe processing fee | − Stripe’s actual fee |
| Creator earnings | £9.75 minus Stripe’s actual fee |
Stripe’s fee can vary by payment method, card origin, currency and the creator’s Stripe pricing. Getboosted records the actual Stripe fee after payment instead of estimating it, then shows it in the creator dashboard.
When can a creator receive payments?
Stripe controls verification and its timing. Approval can be quick when automated checks succeed, but extra information or a manual review can take longer. Returning from the Stripe form alone is not treated as approval: Getboosted checks Stripe’s current status.
What each party pays
- Supporter: the total displayed before Stripe checkout. Getboosted does not add a separate supporter fee.
- Creator: the 2.5% Getboosted platform fee and Stripe’s processing fee are deducted from creator proceeds.
- Getboosted: receives only its disclosed platform fee; it does not receive the creator’s remaining balance.
Bank payouts and verification
Stripe controls identity checks, payout eligibility, balance availability and bank-transfer timing. Getboosted does not store the bank details or identity documents a creator submits to Stripe. Instant Payouts are not currently offered inside Getboosted; an eligible creator may see options provided directly in their Stripe Dashboard.
How creators receive available funds
- Check Creator Studio. Pending means Stripe is still settling the payment. Available for payout means it is eligible to be sent to the creator’s bank.
- Select Manage payouts in Stripe. This opens the creator’s own secure Stripe Dashboard; Getboosted never asks for or stores their bank login details.
- For manual payouts: send the available funds to the verified bank account, or enable automatic payouts in Stripe.
- For automatic payouts: Stripe sends available funds using the schedule shown in Stripe. Creators can open Stripe to view or change that schedule.
An available balance does not necessarily mean the money has already reached the bank. Stripe controls the payout schedule and the final bank-transfer timing.
Refunds, payment problems and tax
Because a Gift is a digital act of support that may be displayed or made available immediately, completed Gift purchases are generally final and are not routinely refundable. This does not affect rights that cannot legally be excluded. A supporter should contact Getboosted about a duplicate or unauthorised charge, a technical failure, or another legally required refund. Stripe disputes, reversals and later adjustments can still change the final amount. Creators remain responsible for their own tax and accounting obligations. This guide is explanatory and is not legal, financial or tax advice.
